چکیده
Intracranial hypotension (IH) is a clinical and radiological syndrome manifested by decrease in the volume or pressure of cerebrospinal fluid caused various reasons. Orthostatic headaches are one main manifestations syndrome, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) considered to be “gold standard” radiation diagnostics. Increased awareness radiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons about this pathology will allow diagnose IH early stages react it timely manner defining further tactics. This publication presents author`s own observation patient with chronic intracranial hypotension, his MRI picture results treatment using “blood patch” method.

Intracranial hypotension secondary to spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid leaks.
A 37-year-old woman presented with acute orthostatic hypotension and diffuse headache. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed T2 hyperintense bilateral subdural effusions, diffuse pachymeningeal enhancement, slit ventricles and venous engorgement compatible with spontaneous intracranial hypotension. Single photon emission computed tomography with computed tomography (CT) and CT-cistern...

CONTEXT Spontaneous intracranial hypotension is caused by spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks and is known for causing orthostatic headaches. It is an important cause of new headaches in young and middle-aged individuals, but initial misdiagnosis is common. OBJECTIVE To summarize existing evidence regarding the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of spontan...
متن کاملConnective tissue disorders with spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid leaks and intracranial hypotension: a prospective study.
OBJECTIVE Intracranial hypotension attributable to a spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak is an increasingly recognized cause of postural headaches. The cause of these leaks is poorly understood, but it is likely multifactorial and may involve a primary connective tissue disorder. We undertook a study to estimate the contribution of systemic connective tissue disorders to the devel...

PURPOSE Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is a relatively uncommon cause of headache, which usually presents as orthostatic cranial pain and is relieved by recumbency. The precise cause of spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid leakage related SIH remains unknown. CASE REPORT We report the case of a 32-year-old man who presented with an orthostatic headache. Brain magnetic resonance ...
متن کاملEpidural Blood Patches in a Patient With Multi-level Cerebrospinal Fluid Leakage That Was Induced by Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension
Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is considered to be a very rare disorder. It is characterized by an orthostatic headache that is aggravated with the patient in the upright position and it is relieved by the patient assuming the supine position. SIH is caused by a spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid leakage without the patient having undergone trauma, surgery or dural puncture or h...
